CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY
Norethindrone acetate induces secretory changes
in an estrogen-primed endometrium. It acts to inhibit the
secretion of pituitary gonadotropins which, in turn, prevent
follicular maturation and ovulation. On a weight basis,
it is twice as potent as norethindrone.
